Exams are over, and I am getting tired of having to tell people I still don’t have my PPL. There is going to be a lot of free time for the next couple weeks for me, and hopefully a lot of good weather too, so I’m making a push while I can.
I flew last week with Mark, and did a pre-flight test including two hours of ground material and two hours in the air covering everything I have learned so far. I did okay, but while he is on a trip for the next week or so I will make a couple solo flights to practice my weak areas.
Actually, I went up yesterday and had an awesome flight - the weather and the plane were both great. Visibility was unlimited, and since I spent a fair amount of time at 3,000 feet above the ground (AGL) the view was nice. I covered power on and off stalls, slow flight, and power on and off descents. Oh plus something really rare happened; I couldn’t get a transponder code (when entered into equipment in the plane, it allows air traffic controllers to identify me) via phone, so I had to ask for it via radio after I got in the plane.
My next solo flight is set for this Monday at noon. Mark will be back soon after, and I will be able to schedule the actual flight test.
